Activities
The Birch Hill group’s activities are currently focused on trying to address the problem of vehicles speeding around the Birch Hill area and on the Ringmead in particular. Community Speedwatch activities are regularly being carried out on the Ringmead and the police are also running regular speed enforcement activities in the area. Both activities have shown that the majority of people speeding were local with some even claiming not to know what the speed limit was. The results of these activities will then be used to help ascertain whether there was a significant speeding problem and if further traffic calming measures are necessary.
To help remind those people who claim to be unaware of the speed limit the NAG put pressure on the Borough Council to have 30mph reminder roundels being painted on the road at the Ringmead-A322 junction by Sainsbury and the Hilton Hotel and work is now taking place to convince the Council to paint further roundels on the Great Hollands Roundabout-Hanworth Road junction.
If you would like more information about this NAG please contact the Community Engagement Team.
